GREEN SPACES SUPP_MM8494_A
As the poster size supplement map for the 2016 December issue of National Geographic Magazine, Saving Unique Habitats illuminated the work being done throughout the nation to quantify and spatially prioritize lands for conservation. This side of the poster specifically spoke to the unique habitats that exist within the US and how saving smaller yet more biologically diverse areas would significantly better conservation priorities rather than current policies that target large tracts of relatively non-biodiverse lands that dominate the western states.
This map went on to win Gold at The Society for News Design and Silver at Malofiej, both international design competitions. To zoom around the map check it out here: Saving Unique Habitats Interactive or download it here: Download Green Spaces Supplement both sides
