As the poster size supplement map for the 2016 December issue of National Geographic Magazine, Saving Unique Habitats illuminated the work being done throughout the nation to quantify and spatially prioritize lands for conservation. This side of the poster specifically spoke to the unique habitats that exist within the US and how saving smaller yet more biologically diverse areas would significantly better conservation priorities rather than current policies that target large tracts of relatively non-biodiverse lands that dominate the western states.
